Haiti - League of Nations : Haiti vs Jamaica [2-2] (Videos)
Tuesday September 12, 2023, as part of the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Nations League (CONCACAF) 2023-2024, League A, our Grenadiers faced the "Reggae Boys" of Jamaica, on the lawn of the "National Stadium Independence Park" in Kingston.

A match which started well with the opening score for Haiti by Deedson Louicius in the 12th minute [1-0] followed by a double 3 minutes later [2-0]. With these 2 goals in the first period, the Grenadiers were confident and saw themselves on the path to victory. At halftime the score was unchanged [2-0] in favor of Haiti.

Returning from the locker room the "Reggae Boyz" took control of the game forcing the Grenadiers on their defense line. Bad luck befell Haiti, Ricardo Adé scored against his own side in the 51' [2-1] before commit a foul allowing Jamaica to benefit from a penalty, converted by Bobby Reid in the 82' [2-2]. Johnny Placide had a lot to do to prevent the repeated attacks of the "Reggae Boyz" from shaking the Haitian nets...

Starting eleven:

Coach Gabriel Calderon made two changes to face Jamaica.
These are Steven Séance who replaces Derrick Étienne and Don Deedson Louiscius who replaces Carnejy Antoine.

Goals:
Grenadiers:
Don Deedson: 12’ and 15’

Reggae Boys:
Ricardo Adé (Haiti own goal): 51’
Bobby Reid on penalty: 82’

Reaction from Grenadiers coach Gabriel Calderon:

Reaction of the Haitian scorer, Don Deedson Louiscius author of a double:

Group B classification:
#1 Jamaica 4 points
#2 Cuba 4 points
#3 Honduras 3 points
#4 Haiti 2 points

ON October the task will become more complicated for Haiti which will host Jamaica in the return match and Suriname on the road in November. Qualification for the second round will require two victories at the risk of losing the possibility of qualifying directly for the 2024 Copa America which will be held in the USA.
